About textbooks of basic subjects (physics, mathematics, etc.)

The Institute of Engineering Education has been making new textbooks and booklets to enhance the education of basic subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, English). On this website, you can find the errata for these printed materials and the abbreviated explanations of exercises (information is updated from time to time).
*Errata and example answers will eventually be integrated into ISTU’s common teaching materials.

<About the size of the characters in the text>

There are two sizes of characters in the text, excluding headings.

  • Large: Places that are basically taken up in classes (places to keep in mind during preparation)
  • Small: Various useful information (places for self-study) that is independent of the flow of the lesson
Includes “required”, “commentary”, “supplement”, “episode”, “development”, “calculation method”, “review”, “math”, “details”, “guide”, etc. (These classifications are not specified. Please read them yourself.)

In addition, the sections and problems marked as “developed” in the text are of a high level. But if you have time, you can read and solve them within the range of knowledge that you can acquire in this class. Some of the content will be linked to specialized subjects that you will learn in the future. If you have extra capacity, we recommend trying.
